# Slow response time for custom hotkey or keyboard shortcut in HID-ScaleWedge

> Speed up a slow hotkey in HID-ScaleWedge by changing the interval between scale read queries.

If your USB-HID scale responds extremely slowly when using a hotkey/keyboard shortcut in HID-ScaleWedge to pull data from it, try the following steps:

1. In the HID-ScaleWedge main menu, click on “Settings,” then click “Advanced.”
2. Under “Interval between Scale Read Queries,” try changing the interval to different values until you find one that makes the response time immediate.
