# Host an ActiveX control in Visual Studio 2010 WPF app

> Find Microsoft's ActiveX hosting walkthrough for window-handle errors in Visual Studio 2010 WPF applications.

Some customers have reported difficulty in using our Barcode ActiveX Control (or any other ActiveX control) in a WPF application using Visual Studio 2010. The below error may appear, or the control might not be available.

> Unable to get the window handle for the 'AxTALBarCd' control. Windowless ActiveX controls are not supported.

To properly host an ActiveX control in a WPF application, please follow Microsoft's official documentation for your version of .NET.
