# What is TALtech?

> TALtech makes Windows software that collects data from instruments like scales and balances into PC applications. Learn what we make and how it relates to your device.

TALtech (TAL Technologies, Inc.) is a software company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded in 1985. We make Windows software that collects data from instruments into PC applications. The site you are reading now is our support site, covering that software.

Our best-known product, WinWedge, collects data from RS232, USB, and Ethernet devices — scales, balances, gauges, barcode scanners — and sends it to programs like Excel. Our other products cover related jobs: TCP-Com connects serial devices to networks, BC-Wedge is our entry-level data collection tool, HID-ScaleWedge reads USB-HID shipping scales, and B-Coder Pro generates barcodes.

## TALtech and your instrument

Our software works with instruments from many manufacturers, but we do not make the instruments themselves. If your scale, balance, or scanner has a hardware problem, its manufacturer is the best source of help. If the problem is getting the instrument's data into your PC, we can help.
